Our waitlist is by application only. Here is everything you need to know about how it works.
How the Waitlist Works
Our Master Waitlist is a running list of approved families waiting for a Poodles of Piedmont Standard Poodle puppy. Placement on the waitlist is by application and approval only.
Step 1:
Submit your Adoption Application. There is no cost or commitment to apply.
Step 2:
We review your application and contact you via phone, email, or text to discuss whether a Poodles of Piedmont puppy is the right fit for your family.
Step 3:
Once approved, you will have the opportunity to pay a $300 non-refundable deposit and sign our agreement to be placed on the Master Waitlist. The deposit is applied toward your puppy's purchase price. Pricing is set per litter — see our Current & Upcoming Litters page for each litter's price.
Step 4:
Families are placed on the Master Waitlist in the order both the signed agreement and deposit are received. When a new litter is born we contact waitlisted families in order and give each family the opportunity to commit to the current litter or pass and keep their position for a future litter.
Step 5:
If you indicated no gender preference on your application and decide to commit to a litter, you will select a gender preference at that time. Gender selection is made in waitlist order, so responding promptly is important.
Step 6:
We provide photo updates at 2, 4½, and 7 weeks of age. At 4½ weeks each puppy receives individual photos and a dedicated webpage. Between 6 and 7 weeks temperament testing results are posted to each puppy's page.
Step 7:
Puppy selection takes place at approximately 7 weeks of age in waitlist order. The Breeder always reserves the right to the first pick of any litter for our breeding program; if exercised, our selection is made before family selections begin. Each family then selects their own puppy — we are happy to share our observations to help guide your decision, but the final choice among available puppies is always yours.
Step 8:
Your puppy goes home at 8 weeks of age. Pick up in Morganton, NC or we can arrange air travel. Flight nanny and ground delivery are the purchaser's responsibility to coordinate.

The sooner you apply, the sooner we can review your application and reach out. We recommend applying now even if you are not ready for a puppy immediately.
