As litters are born, families are contacted in order of their position on the Master Waitlist. Once puppies are thriving (typically between 1–2 weeks of age), buyers will have the opportunity to commit to a litter or pass and remain on the waitlist for a future litter.

When puppy selection takes place (around seven weeks of age), families who have committed to a litter will choose their puppy in order of their waitlist position. We are happy to assist with the selection process by sharing information about each puppy's temperament.
Here at Poodles of Piedmont we have years of experience matching the perfect puppy to your family. The more specific the information you give on your application and when speaking with us, the more successful we will be in getting you paired with the right puppy. Things like lifestyle, age of children, work schedules and other pets in the home all play a large role in finding the perfect puppy. At seven weeks the puppies are temperament tested to assure each one finds the perfect home.
All puppies receive Early Neurological Stimulation starting at three days old through day sixteen. From day sixteen until the day the puppy goes home, we work daily on socialization with all of our puppies. Please visit the ENS/Superpuppy page for more info.

We have four children ranging in ages eleven to thirty-one, and four grandchildren. So all of our puppies will get plenty of love and interaction. By the age of five weeks, we introduce the puppies to crate training. Puppies will also begin using the doggy door so that they learn to go potty outside.
Yes, we do. There is no medical reason to do this, but it is required for showing Standard Poodles as it is in other breeds. Tails are docked per AKC standard. The tip of the tail should be even with the top of the head when the Standard Poodle is standing at attention or in a show stance.

We raise puppies in our home and for safety and privacy our address is not published. We do not allow puppy visits before the puppies turn six weeks old due to puppies being at risk of catching germs and infections. After they have turned six weeks old, you are more than welcome to visit and select a puppy in person and meet the parents.

Standard Poodles are one of the best choices for allergy sufferers. They have hair rather than fur, which means they shed very minimally and produce less dander than most breeds. While no dog is 100% hypoallergenic, Standard Poodles are consistently recommended by allergists as one of the safest breeds for families with dog allergies.
Absolutely! Standard Poodles are known for being gentle, patient, and loving with children of all ages. They are also highly intelligent and easy to train, making them one of the best family breeds available.
Standard Poodles typically stand over 15 inches tall at the shoulder (most are 22–27 inches) and weigh between 40–70 pounds. Males tend to be larger than females.
We recommend having a crate, food and water bowls, and puppy food ready before pickup. Please also have a vet appointment scheduled within 48 hours of pickup.
