On July 11, 2026, Korie gave birth to six healthy Standard Poodle puppies here at our home in Morganton, North Carolina — five girls and one boy, four black and two cream.
Korie is our black AKC Standard Poodle dam, and Willie, our tricolor sire, brings the steady, easygoing temperament we look for in every pairing. Both are fully health tested and AKC registered.
Why we waited a week to tell anyone
We don’t contact families the day a litter is born. We wait until we’re confident every puppy is thriving — nursing well, gaining steadily, no surprises. It usually takes about a week.
Korie’s six passed that mark, so this week we started reaching out to the families next in line on our Master Waitlist.
We mention this because it’s the part of breeding nobody sees. The first week is the one that matters most, and we’d rather have a quiet week and a healthy litter than an announcement.

We have more families on our Master Waitlist than we have puppies, so we’re not taking new reservations for this litter.
We’re sharing it anyway, because families researching Standard Poodle breeders in North Carolina deserve to see how a litter is actually raised — not just the puppies that happen to be for sale this month.
How a family ends up with one of these puppies
Position on our Master Waitlist is set by the order in which a signed agreement and deposit arrive. From there:
Around two weeks, we ask the families in line whether they want to commit to this litter or wait for a future one. Passing is genuinely fine — you can pass on two litters and keep your exact position.
At two, four and a half, and seven weeks, photo updates go out. At four and a half weeks every puppy gets individual photos and its own page on this website, so you can follow one specific puppy.
Between six and seven weeks, we temperament test the whole litter and post the results.
At about seven weeks, families select, in waitlist order — in person, by phone, or over video. Each family chooses its own puppy; we don’t assign them. That’s the entire reason we wait. At seven weeks you’re choosing a personality you can actually observe, not a photo of a three-day-old. We do reserve first pick of any litter for our own breeding program, and that’s stated up front in every agreement.
At eight weeks, they go home — September 5 for these six, with AKC registration, age-appropriate vaccinations and deworming, a microchip, and our five-year health guarantee.
How these six spend their first eight weeks
Korie whelped in our family home, and that’s where the puppies stay for their first five weeks — underfoot, surrounded by everyday household noise, children, and our other animals. There’s no separate kennel building for newborns here.
Starting at three days old, each puppy begins Early Neurological Stimulation, a short daily handling routine linked to better stress tolerance and confidence later in life. At five weeks they move to our puppy building with a doggie door, which starts potty training early and builds outdoor confidence.
